Most bathroom fans carry an IPX4 splash rating. The Dexpro DXF100BTX5 steps up to IPX5, which lets it be fitted in zone 1, directly over the bath or inside the shower enclosure, where the steam actually rises. It shifts up to 95 cubic metres of air an hour on just 10W and runs at a quiet 30dB, so it suits shower rooms, en-suites, toilets and cloakrooms.
The run-on timer wires to the light switch and keeps extracting for a set period after you leave, preset at 5 minutes and adjustable up to 30. The integrated backdraught shutter closes when the fan stops. The matt black housing mounts on a wall, window or ceiling and takes standard 100mm ducting, sold separately. Fit by a qualified electrician with an isolating switch outside the bathroom; the Dexpro SSW13 switched fused spur does that job.
