Fire Rated Downlights Pack of 10 with LED Lamps Included
Fitting out a new kitchen ceiling, finishing a loft conversion or clearing an EICR observation on old open-backed spotlights all start the same way: ten holes and ten fittings that hold the ceiling's fire rating. This pack supplies ten Megaman FR-PRO 712038 fire rated cans, ten bezels in the one finish you choose, and ten Sylvania RefLED 5W GU10 lamps, so the whole job arrives in one delivery. The can is tested to 30, 60 and 90 minutes, keeping the fire separation of a plasterboard ceiling intact once it has been cut.
Four IP20 Bezel Finishes or an IP65 Version for Bathrooms
White, black, brushed nickel and antique brass bezels are IP20 and suit kitchens, landings, hallways and living rooms. For bathrooms and shower rooms pick the white IP65 option: its sealed bezel fits the same can and goes beyond the IPX4 rating required in bathroom zones 1 and 2. Every bezel twist-locks onto the can, so the finish can be changed later without touching the wiring. The lamps are 345 lumen, 4000K cool white GU10s with a 36 degree beam and CRI 80, rated for 25,000 hours. At 5W each, all ten together use 50W, a tenth of what ten 50W halogen spots draw. They are not dimmable, so run them from a standard switch.
Megaman 712038 Specifications and Fitting Notes
Cut a 68mm hole; the can needs only 65mm of void depth, which helps under joists and in shallow loft ceilings. The lever connector loops in and out without tools and sits under a clear lid for quick inspection, while sprung clips grip the plasterboard. Megaman warrants the can for 5 years and Sylvania warrants each lamp for 3 years. These are 240V mains fittings: installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in line with BS 7671, and the IP20 finishes should not be used in bathroom zones 1 or 2.
