Every time a customer pushes through the door, heated air escapes and a cold draught replaces it. The Dimplex AC3W solves this without asking anyone to change their behaviour. Mounted above a single doorway, it projects a directed curtain of warm air at 6.2m/s — fast enough to form a reliable thermal barrier that blocks cold air ingress and stabilises entrance temperatures, even with the door standing open. The result is a more comfortable threshold for customers and staff, and less heat wasted on doorway draughts. At 50.5dB(A), the AC3W is quiet enough for retail counters, reception areas, and cafés where background noise matters. Fan-only mode extends its usefulness into warmer months, making it a year-round fixture rather than a seasonal one.
ConfigR app control, thermostat, 7-day timer, boost and schedule
The AC3W must be commissioned via the free Dimplex ConfigR app before first use, this is a mandatory step and cannot be skipped. Once commissioned, day-to-day operation needs no app involvement: two onboard rocker switches give direct access to standby, manual and schedule modes, plus fan-only, half-heat (1.5kW) and full-heat (3kW) outputs. The ConfigR app then unlocks the full feature set, a digitally adjustable thermostat accurate to within 0.2°C across a 7–32°C range, a seven-day programmable timer, and advance and boost functions that align heating precisely with trading hours. A supercapacitor retains time and date settings for 3–4 days during a power outage; if exhausted while in Schedule mode, time is reset via the app at next use. For sites where smartphone access isn't always practical, the optional Bluetooth remote (ACWRMC, sold separately, part no. 500004955) provides wireless control alongside both the app and onboard switches.
